PURPOSE Challenge: Week three

Daily Indulgence

We live in a society that praises hard work, no sleep, and sacrifice. Heck, we’ve even been known to say that nothing worth having comes easily. The thing is, life isn’t always easy and a little struggle can be character building, but a life of endless strife and self-induced punishment doesn’t equate to a life well lived either.

In fact, taking time each day to celebrate yourself and enjoy the life you are currently living – right here and now – is absolutely necessary in developing purpose and, to be frank, in simply embracing happiness too.

Being productive and actively contributing to society are important parts of purpose, but without taking time to appreciate the fruits of your labor, those things become less meaningful and more daunting. No matter what your goals or dreams are, it is absolutely crucial to take time each and every day to celebrate yourself and enjoy a small indulgence to continue to fuel your life’s purpose.

The Challenge:

You may be wondering how setting aside time every day to indulge in something you love or that makes you feel good is a challenge, but the truth is letting go and relaxing can be one of the most challenging things you do in a day. Too often our lives are spent with our noses to the grindstone and we end up losing purpose, so taking the time to celebrate being alive will play a major part in feeding your sense of purpose.

Take some time to think of as many things that bring you joy or feel like a luxury that you can easily fit into your daily routine. These can be anything from sleeping in, to cooking, to painting, to going for a run, to having a glass of wine, to having coffee with a friend, to having sex, to walking the dog – to anything – as long as it brings you joy and reminds you that you are alive.

For this week, choose seven of those things and schedule them into your day. Make sure you set aside enough time to truly immerse yourself in the activity and are not rushing it.


Time Commitment: 5-20 minutes

The time commitment will vary depending on the indulgence you choose, if you’ve chosen eating a piece of chocolate, maybe it will only take a few minutes, if you’ve chosen a nap or a bath, it may take longer – so whatever you’ve chose for the day, make sure you’re giving yourself enough time to truly enjoy it.


When: AM

If you can start your day off with one small and simple indulgence, it will set the tone for the rest of the day. However, this enjoyable exercise can be done whenever fits best with your schedule.

Write a list of little things you can fit into your schedule that feel like a luxury to you and commit to indulging in one a day, ideally every morning, but any time throughout the day will also work. 

  • Choose one small indulgence for each day of the week.
  • Set aside time every morning to enjoy it.
  • Immerse yourself in the exercise and remind yourself that you deserve this!


Pairs Well With: STUNN AM

This exercise is all about inspiring feelings of worth, purpose, and general good vibes. The ingredients in STUNN AM will work to amplify these benefits from the inside out, while boosting your glow from the outside in. 


On paper this is one of the easiest and most enjoyable challenges yet, but it can also bring up a lot of negative feelings and that little voice inside your head may start barking at you for taking your foot off the gas for a few moments. This is part of the challenge, so stick to it! Face those feelings of guilt and shame head on by continuing to celebrate yourself, because no matter what, you really do deserve all of the good things.
