Citrus Bioflavonoids complexes are naturally extracted from the rinds and peels of citrus fruits and contain Vitamin C, as well as a wide range of flavonoids, including quercetin, hesperidin, and rutin. Bioflavonoids have synergistic relationships with Vitamin C, and in its presence, flavonoids such as quercetin, have been shown to help repair oxidative damage and promote neurovascular structure in the skin, which aids in cell regeneration and hydration. Flavonoids and polyphenols also fight harmful free radicals and inhibit advanced glycation end product (AGE) formation, which supports longevity and cognition. Studies have also shown that another important bioflavonoid, hesperidin, promotes tone/texture improvements and radiance by downregulating matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) expression that is responsible for wrinkles due to photoaging or chronic sunlight (UV) exposure. Other studies have shown that flavonoids, such as quercetin and rutin, can replenish aging cells, promoting elasticity and longevity of healthy skin.
